View Full Version : Flarm with IGlide?
Is there a way to integrate flarm data into IGlide? I’m about to buy a flarm, and if possible I’d like to have the flarm data show up on IGlide. I’m running IGlide on a iPad mini 4.
It’s possible with airconnect from Airvionics
Thanks, that looks like it will work. Does all of the flarm into show up on the IGlide map? Do you know of any manuals or literature that explain how it works?

That's the only thing that will work. Sadly, the iGlide documentation is out of date. What you should see is all Flarm targets except PCAS (I don't think it knows what to do about them and really neither do you). These will be depicted on the screen at any zoom level as a little glider or airplane, depending on what it is, along with altitude and climb rate. You can touch them and get any other information, once selected you can set it as the one referred to in the Nav boxes (if you have any set up for Flarm); also you can label it with a color and it will always appear in that color. It's tracks will be shown if you have that turned on, and in that color.
When there is a warning, you will get an audible warning from the iOS device which will probably not be that loud. You will also get a red triangle emanating from the center of the display toward the edge indicating where to look for the threat. The triangle is quite obvious if you are looking anywhere near the device.
Some of these features may require the higher levels of iGlide, not sure about that. And all of that is from the data going through the Air Vario rather than the Air Connect, though it should be the same - same source and data.

I wouldn’t rely on any one display, in my glider I have a small butterfly FLARM display, an Android XCsoar and a DVS voice module.
I’m going to go with the Flarm LED display and also air connect to the iPad. We’ll see how it works soon!
