Friends:

I am soliciting advice for a winter project to renew the interior of my =
ship (Nimbus 3) - which is getting a bit tattered.

1) Is there a good source for cloth side panels with pockets? Or, if =
they are to be custom made, what types of businesses make them?

2) What is the best adhesive for installing new cloth side panels?=20

3) Do you bond right over the old cloth panel? - or remove the old one =
first?

4) What type of paint resists scratches and marring from seat belt and =
chute fittings, etc?

5) Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Roy, I just renewed the interior of my ship (Speed Astir) last
winter. My local upholstery shop had some extremely nice original Audi
car cloth available which I used for the side walls, the headrest and
the seat. My mum sewed the side walls, the rest was done by the
upholstery shop which cost me about $ 200. I used velcro tape to put
the side walls on. It sticks really well plus it allows to remove the
sidewalls easily if required. I can only recommend velcro tape...If
you have a Volkslogger with nowhere to go in a cramped cockpit, it
might be a good idea to construct a headrest mounting for it, thatīs
what I did. This is of course only practible if you have a front end
for your VL such as Winpilot. I have some pics at my German homepage:
www.flugeimer.de... the URL may sound somewhat weird in English, but
itīs a play of words in German. It also features some nice
vids...Greetings from Germany, Daniel
