I just checked my flux capacitor to make sure it was working right. LMAO. Thanks Dave!

I actually had to use a flux capacitor recently in my bathroom. Oh, BTW, in case you don't know, the commercial name for it is 'plunger'.

I was surprised to find that there are a couple of flux capacitors in
real life:

- a sort of microwave signal trap or delay line:
https://www.engadget.com/2018/05/28/flux-capacitor-back-to-the-future-
quantum-computing/

- an improved integrated circuit capacitor, patented at Stanford
https://www.theengineer.co.uk/issues/25-october-2002/will-the-real-flux-
capacitor-please-stand-up/

....amazing what a web search can find!

Obviously, you guys aren't paying attention. She said, flux "capacitator" not "capacitor". (This is consistent with the flat tires clearly visible in the video.) While they sound similar, they are two entirely different things. This is how rumors get started. ;-)

'flux capacitator' is quite difficult to find, especially when the search
engine silently changes 'flux capacitor' to 'flux capacitator' and the
first dictionaries queried for 'capacitator' all returned their
'capacitor' entry.

Last but not least, are you sure that wasn't a mispronunciation by the
reporter in the referenced clip? People do slip in extra syllables,
especially when they don't fully understand what they're talking about.

I guess this falls under "fake news"?!

Glad to see Dave posting back n here.

Kinda like RASS

It is "Flux Capacitor."

The flux capacitator was not the issue in that accident. More likely the turbo encabulator failed on approach.

Yeah, that was my initial assessment as well. People frequently jump right to the flux capacitor because it's such an easy answer what with all the failures in the early Cessna P210s.

We need a contest rule and an FAA regulation banning the use of flux capacitors. They are dangerous! And anybody on RAS who disagrees is a flaming MORON or in the pocket of the flux capacitor lobby!

but, Turbo encabulators are OK, right? I wouldn't want to have spent all that money getting it installed only to have the rules change next year.

Maybe there should be an AD put out by the FAA to make sure your Turbo encabulator hasn't been replaced with flux capacitor.

Do Ventus 3's have them, might be the secret ingredient.

I just realized that the blonde in the blue dress is the sister of the famous Asiana Flight 214 reporter who first scooped her competitors with the names of the crew.

The commentator neglected to mention that the accident was witnessed by two locals, Heywood Jablome and Jack Mehoff.

You're missing the point, the Flux Capacitor or Capacitater is used for time travel. For the competition pilot you could finish the task before your competition even started. Think of the L/D!
