Beware Phishing Spam email disguised as from Shempp Hirth

Today I received a an email disguised as from Shempp Hirth with a PDF attached invoice. Although I wish I had placed a large order for a new glider I unfortunately have not. The email copied below.


REMINDER – Request for Payment
INV 9660145 – 10/01/18 - $3111.63
INV 9144758 – 10/02/18 - $123.30
We are chasing payment for an outstanding 10/01/18 and 10/02/18 Invoice.
Copy Statement and copy of the 2 Invoices as per the attachment.

Hmm. From the phone number, Schempp-Hirth has moved their offices to western Iowa. Either that, or they are now using a burner phone for all their business. Heck, Greg. Call the number at a time appropriate for first thing in the morning in Germany! See if the person sounds very German when they talk!

I periodically receive a similar letter purporting to come from Soaring NV, which I have never been to.
