Sebastian Kawa is ANNOYED - FRUSTRATED - DISGRUNTLED -
EMBARRASSED - DISENCHANTED - DISILLUSIONED at the format
of gliding competitions and the constant leeching that surrounds his
every move. The world Champion provides a review of the problem
and his suggestions for change. He has every right to speak out at
this ever-increasing problem. (Kawa = World Champion- 29 Gliding
Medals, 24 Gold)

Maybe Kawa should be invited to fly a USA Nationals under the
USA rules to see if he likes what has been done here any better
than what he is used to seeing under the FAI rules.

Well sincerely hope Mr Henderson looks at reducing the cost of FAI IGC
gliding competitions and the sailplanes/motorgliders that fly in them. All

they have done recently with recent changes in competition classes-
particularly what was World, and Club Class is to make the sport even
more a 'richer boys/girls' sport at international level- hardly the way to

grow a declining sport.

Hopefully the US submission to the FAI on rule changes (speed and distance points) to deter gaggle-flying will make it through to an actual rule change. That was a seriously well thought out submission and got the backing of New Zealand. We may even try running a contest or two with the proposed system; stranger things have happened.

How would proposal deter gaggle flying?
