BlankAs a pilot interested in furthering my XC skills but having minimal
interest in the ultimate in performance/competition via cockpit calculators
I did a Google search and found a remarkable shareware downloadable program
at www.gliding-in-melbourne.org. This lists about 40 gliders and allows you
print out several different varieties of final glide tables/calculators plus
allows for changing the weight, wing area, etc. inputs to match your own
equipment. If you send them an additional $AU20 (I just sent $USA20 cash)
you will receive a "key" that will allow you to add any sort of glider you
want to the database and save any information you want to input to the
program. Without the "key" you can still put in any variable you want and
print out anything, but you must have the "key" to save the info. The fellow
who has produced this "Polar Glider" program (Kevin McGowan) has done a fine
job and merits thanks from those of us who prefer a simpler way of soaring.

No, living in Boulder, CO I have no financial interest at all here - I
just think Kevin has done a fine Aussie job and thought others might be
interested in what he has produced. Feedback appreciated.
