View Full Version : Repairing a Schanz compass

I have a Schanz compass that isn't behaving as a compass should. It's almost impossible to get a bearing no matter how much I fiddle with the pitch and bank settings.

I've removed it from the glider to give it some TLC. There's no liquid inside the compass housing (should there be) and the compass glass it cracked.

Does anyone have any advice on repairing this and bringing it back to serviceable condition?

Thanks

I am not familiar with the Schanz brand.
Aircraft Spruce has many parts for compasses.
You would have to measure and buy and try.
