I have a Compaq Aero 1500 Pocket PC that has a crack in the upper
third of the screen. It worked for awhile but now the upper half of
the screen is blank, but the bottom half seams to work ok. If I touch
the upper right blank corner of the screen it seems to work, but the
upper half is still blank. So the question is where do I send it for
repair in the San Francisco area? Can these thing be repaired?

Ebay has some good prices on used ones that sound in
good shape...might be cheaper then the repair route.

Hi,

I dropped an iPAQ a few years ago and damaged the screen. I was extremely
impressed with the repair service offered by Compaq at the time. They
overnighted a padded box to me and I sent it in for repair. It was returned
quite quickly with a new screen. The repair wasn't inexpensive but it was
much cheaper than replacement. I suggest you use the HP web site to find a
repair facility and give them a phone call.

I don't know if they still repair the Aero units - I doubt it.

Good luck,

Paul Remde
