We have a lawyer in our club and, fortunately for the club, he does
some lawyer stuff for free. I have met many very interesting people
since I got involved with soaring, most with technical background of
some sort but certainly not all by a long shot. What I haven't met are
any fellow soaring cops/law enforcement types. I wonder why that is. A
different psychological profile generally speaking? I read about one
in Utah in Soaring Magazine I think. With glider pilots being law
abiding for the most part (tall tales over beer has yet to be
criminalized)there is little call for for my particular job skills in
my chosen hobby/addiction. Its just as well, running a wing beats
running a rap sheet any day.

I'm a communications officer with the WA State Patrol. Not in field
operations yet, but hoping to get an academy appointment someday.
