The other thing I hate is...

what's your bottom dollar?

I always want to say.... well, if you're standing in my driveway with a stack of cash, you'll find out! SO Far.. all you've done is bang away at your keyboard.

When you take the time to come LOOK at what I'm selling.. you could find out what will buy it.

Generally, I just ignore conversations with harangues. But I have to say that "hate" is an awful word filled with so much negativity. I taught my CHILDREN never to use that word and to express their displeasure in more constructive and positive ways - or to not say anything at all. "Banging away at keyboards" indeed (which I just did myself). My $0.02.

I tell the lookee-Lou's, “ lets give the ad a month or so to see what happens.........I’ll keep your number “
Thanks for the chuckle, JP.......standing in my driveway with check book open is spot on!

Im selling the glider winch because the cable is all snarled up on the drum and I think there’s some Glider parts in there too! Also, there’s a pair of flying boots jammed in the guide rollers! Good deal, today only...........in my driveway!

Thanks, RL.
Questions before buying anything are more effective than after, and in most cases tend to keep buyer and seller on more friendly terms.

AS a member of a small (15 members or so) club who operated a winch and sold it, The question might well be rephrased, "as a potential buyer, I'm interested in your operational experience and your choice to no longer own and operate the winch in question"
Our experience was one of profound underutilization, resulting in maybe one or two days a year of winching. also we bought a 182 to aerotow. a similar question would be, "as the seller, what do you think constitutes a safe and effective winching operation"
shorthand question might well result, Why are you selling.
cheers and good lift.

If you want to do winch launching, it helps to have a bunch of relatively young energetic people at your club.
