RIDGE RESIGNATION BRINGS NEW CHALLENGES FOR GA
The resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge this week
means the departure of the highest-profile proponent of AOPA's Airport
Watch Program. Ridge provided the introduction for the Airport Watch
videotape, and he often cited AOPA's program as a model government/
industry partnership to enhance security. "Our three-year relationship
with Secretary Ridge demonstrates AOPA's ability to get things done
for GA in Washington," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "It's unfortunate
it must now end and we must start again with his successor, but we're
up to the task. Just as we've established positive relations with three
heads of the Transportation Security Administration in three years,
