In this webinar presented by XC guru Kempton Izuno, you will learn how to look at longer range forecasting tools in order to MAXIMIZE your chances of flying in great soaring weather and MINIMIZE disruption to your family and work life. Several previous tasks and flights will be reviewed with the predicted and actual weather, the forecast progression, and what actually happened in flight.

After this webinar, you will now how to:

- Better understand the basics of what weather patterns to look for
- Determine how reliable the longer term forecast may or may not be
- Forecast weather 10 to 16 days out

KEMPTON IZUNO began soaring at age 14, captivated by tales of long cross country flights. He earned his Gold badge at age 17 in a 1-26. Beyond writing and lecturing about soaring, he now focuses on mentoring other soaring pilots on better cross country technique.

There is some confusion over the start time. The email I got from the FAA said 7pm EDT (6pm CDT, 5pm MDT, 4pm PDT). The SSA page says 5pm PST, which fits - but we're not on standard time any more.

I heard directly from David that it is at what we today call "7pm central".

Sorry for any confusion.

Start time is ALWAYS 7pm CENTRAL time. If you are joining from outside the United States, this is 00:00 Zulu
