I am downloading files Club Class Nationals and came across airspace files with "xformat-SSA modifications" (I have previously used Soaringdata.info for SUA files)
What are the SSA modifications?
Tom,
Airspace files published in connection with contests document (exactly) the airspace that is closed to the contest. "SSA Modifications" means that the airspace vertical limits have been modified in accordance with the practice that "Airspace above closed airspace is closed to the contest". For example, the ceiling for Blass B airspace will be extended to FL180.
Again note that the reason for publishing contest airspace files is to document what airspace is closed to the contest. It is entirely possible that airspace included in files from Soaringdata.info would be missing from the contest file. For example, if there is a nearby MOA or Parachute Jump Area that the contest committee elects to keep open to the contest, that would be missing from the contest airspace file.

Note that the complete airspace file for the contest is also available, to provide you with the full picture.
