Since we all read about it when this poor guy was charged, I think it only
appropriate to point out all charges were dropped. Only after, of course,
the media and FBI ran his name through the dirt.

Anyone can say just about anything about anyone to get them in trouble. Nothing like guilty until proven innocent!

"An FBI agent's affidavit filed with the criminal charge attributed the
claim to a female acquaintance, whose identity was kept secret."

Yeah, that stinks. Glad to hear it was rumor and innuendo. Lucky he had the
money for a lawyer to clear his name. Too bad the babe will probably pay no
price for her part in all this.

I hope United reinstates the guy. My understanding is that a lot of
time, just being touched by an accusation like this is enough to kill
your career, or, at the very least, impose a glass ceiling of sorts so
you never progress.

Not as long as you belong to ALPA.

A longstanding tradition at United. In Portland, when the flight kitchen
was shutting down and there were only going to be a few positions left, the
sexual harrassment suits started flying.

My dad lost his career of 23.5 years at United because of a sexual
harrassment suit that was proven to be bogus. (She claimed that she and her
husband had lived in fear of him for ten years. He proved that she'd
invited him over for Thanksgiving dinner with her family for three of
those...they'd gone to movies, fishing...) She got his job until they
found out the real story. Then they let her go, but didn't reinstate him
either. Offered him an apology and a front-line ticket agent job in a
different city at ~60% of his previous salary.
F**k United.
