View Full Version : Best. Soaring. Cover. Ever.

March 2nd 05, 05:56 AM
There have been some pretty good Soaring covers over the years, but
rarely does one cover photo truely convey the excitement, beauty and
majesty of the sport of soaring as does the March 2005 one. Bravo!

(Someone should submit it to Howard Kunstler's "Eyesore of the Month"
web site. This photo could be the centerpiece of a campaign to recruit
bad architects into the sport. )

Is this SSAs way of telling us to get out our cameras?

Anyone care to post a quick scan of it somewhere? It hasn't made it to
the official website yet.

Reading the SSA online newsletter the past couple months, I'd come to
believe that the SSA is now a national society dedicated to the
preservation of an ugly office building in New Mexico, with some
ancillary interest in the sport of flying gliders. Now it's official!

Funnnyyy. I did not have my march issue yet, and if I would not have
seen the above posts and gotten the magazine, I really would not have
thought too much of it. Some one in Hobbs likes a nice snow scene or
some painter is proud of the stripes etc. I am not that critical.
Could not wait for the March issue to arrive though
On the other hand, could you see playboy magazine with the playboy
mansion
on the front page?

The people that buy Playboy magazine don't own the mansion, do they?
Perhaps it would be analogous if they had shown a picture of Dean
Carswell's home...

Why not drop it? The editorial said it all; enough
whining and bitching about trivia. This is like going
to the city dump to shoot rats with a .22; there are
better things to do with your life!

How has the sky been looking on your side of the rocks?
Last few days have had decent clouds up this way.

I should apologize here to Eric Greenwell. My post
below was directed to all and was not about his particular
post.
