German on back of variometer

What do the words on the back of the variometer mean?

One is Stat. druck; Druck translates to pressure,i.e. Static Pressure. Is
this the port where the TE probe goes?

Yes, it is. Maybe my WInter is newer than yours? It has both German
and English on the case for the connections.

No, but the port on the back of the vario which is connected to the TE
probe is labelled the "Static" connection. The other port is for
connection of the capacity flask.

Yep. If you connect the "stactic" port to the stactic probe, you have an
uncompensated vario. If you connect it to the TE probe, you have a
compensated vario. Simple as that.
