View Full Version : A Wiki dedicated to Aviation
A new wiki is available at http://aviation.freeprohost.com/ (until we
get a better url) as a meeting place for all things aviation. Please
populate it, I guarantee it will be useful. Use this topic to give
feedback on the website, improvements that could be made, etc.
Thank you.

your host's banner ads are clashing with your top navigation and it
makes the Wiki hard to use. maybe upgrade to a paid hosting account?

Do you have a vision about how this is to differ from wikipedia
proper, or the dozens of web bulletin boards, newsgroups, and mailing
lists already in existence?

What's a "wiki"?
If I'm happy with this newsgroup, why would I want to join the wiki?
NB: on the intro page it says "Why _not_ join the wiki?"
This wiki will be getting a total redesign for anyone who cares to
know.
Also, wikipedia is just not the same. This is a wiki dedicated to the
sharing of aviation-only information that the entire community can
share. Events can be publicised easily, and it (I hope) will be a
one-stop for people wishing to get information on aviation in their
area.
It looks pretty weak at the moment I know, but give us time. With the
entire community pitching in no doubt we'll also have our aircraft
database complete. As for private hosting, I'm working on that ;-)
