The 'Trophies' rapper unveiled his new possession on Instagram Friday and the
aircraft features his OVO owl symbol, along with the moniker 'Air Drake'
•Drake took viewers on a quick tour of the plane's interior. Inside the plane
are posh gold and milk chocolate brown sofas adorned with gold walls
•'No rental, no timeshare, no co-owners,' he proudly boasts as he shows off his
new plane
•Airways magazine puts the massive plane at approximately $185million - and that
is without the customization
•In his song 'Heat of the Moment' he makes reference to climate change and
specifically the melting of the ice cap, seemingly dissing his future purchase
•'The ice is meltin' as if the world is endin,' he rapped
Drake now owns a massive Boeing 767 cargo plane - despite once rapping about the
dangers of climate change on the polar ice caps.
The 'Trophies' rapper unveiled his new possession on Instagram Friday and the
aircraft features his OVO owl symbol, along with the moniker 'Air Drake.'
OVO stands for Drake's company - October's Very Own - and for his record label
OVO sound.
The 32-year-old Grammy winner took viewers on a quick tour of the plane's
interior. Inside the plane are luxury gold and brown sofas adorned with gold
walls.
'No rental, no timeshare, no co-owners,' he proudly boasts as he shows off his
new plane.
In the clip, Drake also pays homage to CargoJet's President and CEO Ajay
Virmani.
He stated: 'That guy made it happen right there, that's the man.'
The unveiling of the plane comes after news broke that Drake had partnered with
the Canadian company.
'We are very excited to partner with Drake as our ambassador and assisting him
with his logistical needs and requirements,' Virmani said in the statement. 'We
have had a lengthy relationship with Drake and this partnership has grown
organically between both parties. Cargojet and Drake are both great Canadian
successes, we are thrilled to be partnering together.'
Airways magazine puts the massive plane at approximately $185million - and that
is without the customization.
But the new plane does seem to go against a brief moment when the rapper
appeared to warn on the dangers of climate change.
In his song 'Heat of the Moment' he makes reference to climate change and
specifically the melting of the ice cap.
'And all the cops are still hangin' out at the doughnut shops,' he says in the
song. 'Talkin' 'bout how the weather's changin. The ice is meltin' as if the
world is endin.'
While the song is about his relationship with a woman, it is clear he was
thinking about the impending chaos that would come with climate change.
Now it seems he's aiding in the process.
