View Full Version : Motor glider Endorsement

Does anyone have recommendations for a facility to get my motor glider endorsement? I live in Indiana but realize that I may need to travel. Close is best if possible.

What motorglider will you fly... if you can you are better off getting training in a similar type. Big *if* there. For Schleicher see Williams Soaring, all Schleicher rotary engine motorgliders are close enough that the ASG32Mi is a great platform to learn in.

It's actually a self-launch endorsement, you don't need it for a sustainer.

You can get it for free if you want to join Sandhill Soaring in southern Mich. Plus as a bounce we have a DG505 stationed at Seminole lake in the winter.

What is the cost of joining Sandhill? When do operations begin such that I could do it in Michigan?

Is the endorsement the same for electric and gas? Can someone get an endorsement for electric in a gas powered self launcher?

AC 61-94 has recommendations on what preferably is used for the
endorsement, but it really is at the discretion of the instructor. The
endorsement is not specific for a particular type of propulsion. Jets
may not be included, not sure of the rules there.
