Hello,
I'm looking for all the hardware for a water ballast system for a DG 202 1982. An old set of water bags that i could copy would be welcome. Someone removed the whole setup and I'm looking to reconstruct it.
Thanks

Either Streifeneder or DG-Flugzeugbau can probably help you with the bags and valves.

When I was designing the dump system for the HP-24, I couldn't find anything commercially available, so I ended up making my own valves from commercially available components. I considered several suppliers for the bags before going with Streifeneder. The price was reasonable, and the bags were good quality and matched the drawings exactly.

Just curious, are there dump ports in the bottom of the wing? Or does the system dump through the fuselage?

Hey Bob, did you consider using one of the wake board ballast bag manufacturers? They list a custom option usually with prices starting at $100. I haven't called but expect to use the old bags I have for a while.

I considered several local makers of pond and tank liners before going with Streifeneder. The money saved didn't seem worth the time and risk. When I started developing sailplanes, I decided that there were several technologies I would leave to others, and ballast bags became one of them. The other big one is acrylic transparencies.

Chris,

You might consider putting this question on the DG gliders group on groups.io.
