Hi Everyone,
Preparations for the Region 7 Soaring Contest in Albert Lea, MN are coming
along nicely. We are going to have a lot of fun!
Please note that if you haven't yet registered for the contest and sent in
your $100 deposit, you need to do that before Wednesday, March 30th to avoid
the $50 late fee. You can see details on how to register on the web site

We are planning many fun events to make it enjoyable for pilots and crews
alike. There will be a wine tasting party at Jim Hanson's house on Saturday
evening after the mandatory pilot's meeting. A "Fish Boil" dinner is
planned for Sunday night at the airport. On Tuesday night we will be dining
on the edge of Fountain Lake in Edgewater Park. Thursday night will find us
dining at the Elk's Lodge. All the dinners are optional (extra cost)
events. Most pilots and crews attend because it is a great opportunity for
socializing. You can sign up for the events when you register upon arrival
at the contest.
I'd also like to have a "star gazing" event at the airport or Jim Hanson's
house some evening. The view of the heavens is very good in this remote
area. Please let me know if you have a high powered telescope that you can
bring.
