Might anyone out there have some information on the fatal accident
involving Bob Symons at Inyokern, CA circa 1958? Details? NTSB
accident report?

Thanks very much.

'Exploring the Monser' by Bob Whelan discusses this
accident...IMHO a must for the glider pilot library.

Hi;

I believe Bob lost his life in a glider accident while on tow in a new
experimental BG-12 at Inokern, CA which lost a wing allegedly due to
exces towing speed. I'm not positive about the details other than he
was being towed by a new Piper Tripacer (PA-28). the source of my
information was in a book I recently read "Taming the Monster" Could be
I'm mistaken.
