View Full Version : Is Wings And Wheels 'contact the seller' form actually working?

I want to inquire the owner of a 201 Standard Libelle (first page, red nose, red winglets) and sent a message via the W&W surface - no response.
Similar thing happened approximately a year ago while inquiring another owner - I found him via different channels and he said he hasn't gotten any message.

You could always call the number listed? I'm assuming there is a number listed.
You can also search on SSA website.
I've had great response from the few people I've contacted.
I wish there were gliders wanted ads on WnW though.
Good luck!

As I've looked at the advertisement, just realized that the owner's name and phone number was there, which I've apparently totally missed. That's my bad. Also got the owner's email address, thanks a lot!

I recently sold a glider via Wings & Wheels and the seller contact form seemed to work fine. It was listed for a long while and it worked over the entire listing period and renewal periods.

W&W seller notification continues to work as designed. Sellers decide how they respond to each message.

I have sporadically had trouble with the contact form over the last few years, can't recall specifics now. I just contact the seller directly when it (or I?) spaz out. Maybe skinware for all I know.

I recently used the contact seller without any reply, guessing it did not work.

After selling a glider, I made five contact seller form inputs and received a reply to each request. Actually one seller reached out to me twice to tell me the glider was sold. I suggested he mark it sold, but it's still out there. I suspect he (sounded rather elderly on the phone) had help posting the original ad and is clueless about marking it sold.

Maybe he's selling it because someone gave him 'the talk'.

I can attest that I am not getting inquiries forwarded to my email of record (in the past I was). I found this out when one person texted me to check my messages. When I did I not only found his message but several others as well that never got forwarded to my email. I now have to check my messages on W&W daily just like my email. If they raise their prices I may have to take my business someplace else!

Reached the owner via email (got it from a RAS user), the response was immediate. So I'm assuming something's wrong with the W&W message delivery system or with the email address where the messages are supposed to be forwarded?
Unfortunately the sale is already pending.

And something is apparently wrong with google groups too, as many of us cannot post, haha :)

They seemed to have had a glitch last night during which all Google groups were down. All good now.

I find there can be issues with certain freemail providers. Hotmail AKA MSN.com AKA outlook.com, etc, can be problematic. I have issues with virgina..edu e-mails, but guess what, they are hosted by Microsoft, as are several other businesses and universites. Then there's Earthlink, and several domains hosted there also, including the classic ix.netcom.com. Most play by the RFCs created by the IETF, but some clearly don't and don't like some hosting companies. Nor do they use good spam blocking methods. YMMV by a long way.

One spam mitigation plan is to drop mail from minor or unkown mail providers. (Think whitelist/blacklist for mail servers sourcing the traffic.) Where do the mail headers show the mail came from for something that did get thru the 'contact seller' path?
