The FAA Registry has a heading for V2bx as well as V2ax but indicates that none are in the U.S. What gives?

https://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/AcftRef_Results.aspx?Mfrtxt=SCHEMPP-HIRTH&Modeltxt=VENTUS+2&PageNo=1

Imported, then exported? Who knows? I think it's more interesting that the Ventus 2A models are listed as having 2 seats. These types of errors in the FAA aircraft database download version make querying, for example, for a count of two seat gliders in the US challenging, as other MFR/MDL CODES for gliders are similarly in error with some two-seaters listed as having only one seat.

Kind of like finding an ASG29 on the registry.

YMMV

The Ventus 2 was certified under standard airworthiness. To change the official designation would likely trigger recertification.

All x's are registered as Ventus 2 a and b's. If you are seaching the database you just need to look for the later serial numbers for the x models.
