LAK 12 Polar

Hi,

Does anyone have a copy of the Dick Johnson report on the LAK 12 sailplane? I'm trying to access it to get a polar to enter into a customer's new LXNAV S80 variometer. The SSA web site shows the document, but the flash player is not currently working in any web browser. Has anyone downloaded it previously? I called the SSA and they said they don't currently have access to it either.

FYI to all regarding the Flash Player requirement on the SSA website for reading the Johnson reports. You can down load the full issues in PDF or some other format that doesn't require Flash Player. Then, just skip to your page, not as fast but works in a pinch.

How do you get to the PDF download button without the Flash player? I tried looking around the SSA Soaring Mag archive page now hoping to find a way to download issues, but no luck.

I found that if you do a Soaring Archive Search, the search results offer the option of a PDF download. There may be an easier way, but I haven't found it.

Thank you! I now see that if you get a link through the other parts of the archive, e.g., the "Johnson Reports" page, it looks like this:

https://www.ssa.org/archive/ViewIssue.aspx?year=2000&month=07&Page=30

If you edit that URL to delete "View", then it becomes a link that downloads the PDF. For example edit the above to:

https://www.ssa.org/archive/Issue.aspx?year=2000&month=07&Page=30

Paul The Lak 12 polar is as near as dammit to a Nimbus2A/B. Same span and
wing section.

As Flash is deprecated, you have to allow it in your browser. There will be not support for Flash in most browsers after the end of the year. There is a project underway to convert, before the end of the year, the archive viewer to HTML5 and still keep the archive word searchable, consistently up to date, and hopefully useful in other ways.
