With the recent thread on the unfortunate man who ran out of fuel and
ditched in Lake Michigan, I've looked for the CAA's ditching advice
online. It can be found here:

http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?categoryid=33&pagetype=65&applicationid=11&mode=detail&id=1175

Contains lots of good information (including a picture of a rather
unfortunate Emeraude floating around in the Irish Sea)

At least it is made of wood, so much better for floating! <g>

I don't envy anyone who has to ditch in the Great Lakes. I've spent a lot
of time on Erie, and although it is so shallow, and rougher wave conditions
prevail, Michigan makes up for that by its' colder water.
