View Full Version : Who wants to try VR?

February 23rd 21, 04:35 AM
I have an Oculus Rift S that I bought this summer for Condor use. Unfortunately I discovered that I suffer from acute motion sickness in VR. I understand that most people don't have this reaction, so I suppose I am just unlucky.

I'd like to offer this headset up to other soaring pilots who would like to try out VR.

Here's the deal:

You reply to me at my personal email address (my first initial + last name at gmail.com). I will reply with an invitation to edit a google sheet, to which you will add your name, address, and email.

I will ship the headset to the first recipient. That person will keep the headset for a few weeks, and will then ship it to the next person in line as indicated on the spreadsheet. The previous person can then delete their information from the sheet.

This will continue until either the headset is obsolete, broken, or until someone breaks the chain. (The soaring gods will not smile on that person.)

Each person will be responsible for cleaning / disinfecting the headset after use and for the shipping charges to the next recipient.

Note that VR requires a fairly powerful computer with a modern graphics card. Your computer must have a USB 3.0 port as well as a DisplayPort to connect the headset.
