Canadian Rockies Soaring Club blew us out of the water. That despite Bob
Lepp's heroic efforts to almost single handedly defend our now lost 1st
place in the club standings where we shined so briefly. But we're still in
2nd place! Wouldn't it be fun to have our pilots fly in the Rockies for a
month and theirs fly in southern Ontario. Ah, but dreaming will not make it
so. We need reinforcements. If you are thinking about X/C, get a Bronze
Badge Student Progress Card, and begin the 'Boot Camp' for one of the most
exciting and satisfying forms of gliding. Buy the book, "Teaching Cross
Country Soaring" at www.eglider.org, and start with one of the qualified X/C
Instructors.

It's a learning curve that just doesn't seem to flatten out.

Another excellent book is "Introduction to Cross Country Soaring" by
Kai Gertsen which is available courtesy of the St. Louis Soaring
Society at "http://www.stlsoar.org/news.htm".
It compliments "Teaching Cross Country Soaring".
