Is it possible to do flight planning on my desktop computer and then
upload it to my GNS430? I can't find the adaptor that I would need (or
do I need to get a card and card-reader to transfer the information)?

Also it is possible to use the same method to enter the checklists on
the 430, or do I have to 'type' them in manually on the unit?

No. I guess it would mess with the certification requirementes to have
something like that, but it would be REALLY neat. While you're at it,
make it infrared or, even better, Bluetooth, please.

I don't know why it would. You already use the computer to update the
data cards. The GNS480 has an IR port, but they have not as of yet
made use of.
