hi,

is anyone aware of any gliding clubs in the Innsbruck area of Austria who might
be happy to take up a visitor?

I did a quick search on the internet and nothing obvious came up. On the other
hand I've never been before and my geography of the area is not that good.

Thanks

Chris

Try http://www.segelflug-tirol.at. They are based right at Innsbruck.

I do not know how they treat guests, though.

Ciao, MM

Hi Chris,
look here
http://berg.heim.at/anden/420013/flieger/flugpl.htm
in the section Tirol.
Most Texts are in German.
Segelflug means soaring,
the rightmost column contains the clubs,
and phone numbers and e-mail adresses are self explanatory.
For insurance reasons most clubs (i.e. non profit organisations)
will hezitate to rent planes to non-members.
There are some professional organisations not too far from Innsbruck,
p.e in Unterwoessen (google for dassu) and in Niederoeblarn (Sportunion).
The Tyrol (Tirol) aerea is one of the best places in Europe for soaring
- may be one of the best places in the world.
But the best season has already ended.
For the Austrian OLC championship (SIS-AT) look here:

Best regards
Walter
