Okay, the party prep is mostly complete. The food is ordered, the beer is
on the way, the Mighty Grape is topped off so that Jim & Gail will have that
sweet (and "cheap", at $2.19/gallon!) mogas for their 182, I've changed the
big sign to say "Welcome EAA Pilots", the weather is supposed to be typical
Midwest summer hot, and...
....I'm off for three days of motorcycle camping with my daughter.
Normally this would be a good thing, but (a) this is a crazy time to be gone
(especially after we just got back from Mackinac Island), (b) there are a
zillion little details that need to be attended to for this party to come
together, and (c) it's supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow...
But I promised to take her on the motorcycle, just like I always take her
big brother. This is the only three-day period open till school starts.
And, well, I promised. And she won't let me forget.
