Hi All
My ship has a multi probe. When the ship is sitting on its tailwheel
the the probe is level with the ground. And the T.E. part of the probe
is straight up and down. When the ship is flying in a somewhat level
flight attitude the probe must be pointing down in respect to flight
attitude. And the T.E. part of the probe is even farther back, not
prependicualar to flight. Will this lead to airspeed and variometer
reading errors? Or just airspeed errors? Or just variometer erors? I
assume static is static and don't matter which plane the prob is in.
But we all know how to spell "assume", ass you and me. ;-)
Are there any thoughs on the mounting of the probe. Good, bad, or
indifferent?

I'm assuming you have one of the ESA probes with 2 ends for TE
if this is the case, then it's not even connected to the Pitot or
ASI......the ASI should be connected only to PITOT and STATICS (not TE
which is BTW a compensated Static).
The Two ends actually help balance the TE as opposed to single end probes so
if anything, meaning if your gliders TE mount is not 100% this should be
better than a single ended probe .
I'd simply fly with it and see!......if then you need to amke adjustments do
it.if not, just fly......don't worry.....be happy

The shaft should be parallel to the ships attitude (in flight) If it
isn't, then bend it to make it so.
