Hi,

Firstly, OSH exceeded all my expectations. Everything seemed to run
flawlessly, traffic was minimal, the variety of aircraft, engines, and
pilots was astounding. I could go on, but good job EAA!

But next time, please have a better food selection and kettle corn! :)

Best thing for food, is to bring your own. A small cooler with some
sandwiches and chips, or whatever, will keep your costs and weight down. <g>

Jim, since I had never been to Oshkosh, I decided to not have a booth this
year and just 'experience' Oshkosh. It was a great event and I did manage
to have several very good business meetings with some major organizations
and companies - so it definitely went well both on the business and pleasure
side. Sorry about the mixup though. Hilton Software will definitely have a
booth at AOPA's Expo in Tampa Nov 3-5 and we'll not only be showing WingX,
but also some new technology/application. If I told you about it, I'd have
to kill myself. :) But keep a lookout for it.

BTW: if you want (or any other NGer wants) the new WingX for the Pocket PC
Version 1.7 CD, please let me know and I'll get one in the mail.

Thanks Jim, and keep in touch,

But no kettle corn!!! :) Speaking of food, I was busy chomping down on a
hamburger and I looked over my shoulder and about 5' away from me was my
Scott Crossfield also eating lunch. I wanted to go up to him say how much I
enjoyed his talk at SQL and that I admire the tremendous test pilot work he
did. But I never know if 'they' want random people just coming up to them.
Now, he's not a well-known 'face' like Neil, John, etc, so maybe he would
appreciate the recognition. In the end, since he was talking with two
people, I didn't speak with him.

Amazing career, amazing man, amazing speakier - I loved every minute of his
talk when he was at the museum at SQL.

There was supposed to have been an event on Monday night featuring Scott and
Mike Melville at Theater in the Woods. Weather was threatening and I didn't go.
Did anyone? Was the event held?

Scott was at the SS1 crew press conference and was recognized by one of the
crew, I think it was Rutan ("...I see Scott Crosfield is in the audience, hi
Scott..."). Turns out he was right behind me just a few feet away in his golf cart.

Yeah, Melville and Crossfield went up on stage together and answered some
questions. It was great to watch. Both of them were witty and played off
each other. Melville was talking about SpaceShipOne's feather arrangement
and Crossfield said "Sure, I bend an airplane in half and I'm a screw up.
You do it and you're a hero." It was a lot of fun to watch....till the storm
hit hard. Even then it was worth it.
