OLC score calculation?

I was just wondering how the OLC scores are calculated. I was looking
at a case today where a higher performance ship Ventus 2 versus my
Ventus B flew a shorter distance and slower yet gets a slightly higher
score.

Here is the raw data from August 20th on the USA section:

304.96 Hunter Robert US 348.66 88.73 Hemet (US) Soarfari Ventus 2
(N666RH) 2017-0013

303.35 Taylor Tim US 349.85 102.3 Morgan Ut (US) Cache Valley Soaring
Association Ventus 1 (TT) 2037-2402


Can any one explain how the scores are calculated?

It is explained on the OLC website. Speed doesn't matter. Also, the
5th and 6th legs don't count as much as the first 4 legs, so there is
not a consistent relationship between distance and points.

OLC score is based on distance only, which is multipled by your
glider's handicap or "OLC index". (Not literally. If your Ventus
index is 110, your distance score will be divided by 1.1. Something
like that.)

OLC allows the flight to be optimised for six legs. The first 4 legs score
100% (ie 1 point per km), leg five 75% (ie .75 points per km) and leg six
50%. The total score is then adjusted with the handicap of the glider.
At least that is how i understand it.

Leg 5 is counted at 80%, leg six at 60%. It's in the Info and Rules section.
