Here's a quote from yesterdays ANN article:
"ANN's Jim Campbell, flying an R-44 helo (which is
proving to be an impressive load-hauler, even in the
oppressive heat) in outlying disaster areas..."
What a hoot he's got them convinced at the home office that he's flying relief
missions in a R-44 . Bet he was getting a free ride in one for an article and
wasn't even flying solo let alone flying "loads" as he's implying. Our hero :-)
I bet jauns swooning LOL!!
Sorry but this was just too funny to pass up.

You got that right, you never have been and never will be, you only
eliminate them, not become them. So what are you doing to help the victims
of Katrina? Sitting on your fat ass at home, wondering how you're going to
fight that lawsuit, or trying to come up with better, improved ways of
claiming that people die because they forget to install the
"optional/required" fuselage cover? That autopsy report must have hit you
like the proverbial ton of bricks!
Too hypocritical to pass up, putz.

Juan,
I commend you on your ability to avoid the salient point:
Did the Zoomer participate in relief efforts or did he intentionally mislead
ANN's readers? Enquiring minds and all that.

Hey Chuck;
I hope the mooz doesn't get shot flying relief into the hurricane
Katrina. He really doesn't have a very good record in the relief/rescue
area. Remember him being shot in the leg rescueing the girl from being
raped, shot in the back flying relief in Africa. Also we cannot forget
the shrapnel in the jaw from Viet Nam. That was probably from My Lai
saving those people as he is the one that know the true story of that
incedent.
I think that it is a given that the B.S. artist zzzoom and his
designated ass kisser juan have never put it on the line to benefit
anyone. They are both cowards and can only talk , they will never walk

So big deal you were in the Marines. Were you ever under fire,
probably not? Have any combat awards or decorations? (for the record I
do) Will you ever fly your BD5, probably not? Will you ever do
anything that doesn't involve having your lips planted on zzzoom's ass,
probably not? As for bitch slapping me your bull****ting hero has had
plenty of chances to try but, he always ran away from me or called the
police. One time he tried to bait me into starting a fight when he had
several friends around by saying that I "was a fat mommas boy" and
after that he ran away from me what does that make him. He once bought
a gun saying that he was afraid of me and I was a thousand miles away
from him. Like I said two can talk the talk but you will never walk the

You seem really good at trying to throw the blame for aircraft
accidents at first Chuck then myself. In this case you really need to
get your facts together. PK-RIM was owned by Mandala and only they were
responsible for its maintenance and operation. Mandala leased a couple
of planes from our company but the contract was for only a short term
and expired about a year ago. I could provide more facts in this matter
but you and zzzoom never seem to let facts get in the way of what you
decide to write.
Once again what combat decorations do you have please tell us. And
yes I have assaulted a hootch, also bunkers and troops in the open among
other things. What have you assaulted, anything? Ever hear a Soviet
130mm round coming in on you, 82 mm mortar or a 122 rocket? I have,
stuff you and the other ann or in your case ex ann toadies dream about.
You are exceptionally brave behind a keyboard we will see how ballsy
you are when our paths cross and I promise you they will.
If you don't know an FAR 129 airline has exactly the same FAA
regulations as a 121 operator. The only difference is ownership, the
planes have N registration and the crews are all U.S. licenced and
rated. Again we mustn't let facts get in the way of your thinking. A
real airline I thought Eagle was a commuter, why aren't you still there?
The Eagle mechanics at Miami used to come begging for me to hire them.
I think that they were making about ten or eleven bucks an hour pretty
much the same as I paid my mechanics helpers.
Chuck is 100% correct when he says it's about credibility. I will add
that it shows the maturity and sense of decency that you have when you
dance on the graves of people that died in plane crashes.Just to make a
feeble attempt to bring others down to your sick level.

New found fame, Kyle. Look it up in the dictionary. Very few people knew him
when he was put into the Hall (incorrectly, IMO). Orders of magnitude more
people know him now that one of his airplanes killed a billionaire war hero

And you seem pretty good at talking out your ass about people you don't know
and things of which you don't have a clue, then thinking you're going to
impress anyone with your bull**** about riding a helo in the war and having
"combat time". That's precisely why you're just another clueless twit to me,
someone who is so insecure about himself you have to flaunt your bull****
medals as if you were some hot**** war hero. You know why I could give a
rat's ass about your medals? Because I worked in SAR for the majority of my
time in the Corps, at SOES in MCAS Cherry Point, and the point of what I did
was to save lives, not to take them and not to boast about getting shot at,
you ****ant putz. My medals are the people our squadron saved to live
another day, people like the little preemie and her hemorraging mom who were
able to be evacuated to a hospital with better facilities because I was able
to correct an APU problem on an CH-46 between the time they announced Launch
Pedro and the time the ambulances came screaming down the ramp. I value that
a lot more than I value your bigshot claims of shooting hooches and
measuring rounds as they flew past your punk ass.

"According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the pilot was in
communication with the JAC air traffic control tower during the accident
flight. The pilot did not report any problems. Recorded weather at JAC just
prior to the accident indicated the wind from 180 degrees at 4 knots, clear
skies, and a temperature of 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
The airplane impacted sage brush-covered flat terrain approximately 575 feet
west of Highway 89, and 3/4-mile north of the approach end of runway 19.
The airplane wreckage was transported to a vacant hangar at JAC for further
examination by the NTSB. The airplane was equipped with a Hirth 3701 engine
rated at 100 horsepower. Initial examination of the wreckage did not reveal
any obvious indications of pre-impact mechanical malfunctions with the
airframe, engine, or systems. There was no evidence of fire, explosion, or
in-flight structural failure. Control cable continuity for all flight
controls was established. A global positioning system (GPS) receiver was
found in the wreckage; it has been sent to the Safety Board's recorder
laboratory in Washington DC for possible non-volatile memory extraction of
flight path, altitude, and ground speed data."

It appears from the FAA's preliminary investigation that the accident was
not the fault of the aircraft's controls etc etc. Personally my opinion is
he was dead before the plane hit the ground, otherwise how would such an

Reno (Washoe County NV) and Grass Valley (Nevada County CA) share a common
border and a common history. The last semilegal (the cops looked the other
way) cathouse in Grass Valley was Barrelhouse Bessie's; the cops shut them
down about 40 years ago. There are still a dozen "quiet" houses in Grass
Valley where a gentleman can get a drink and the lead removed from his
pencil if you know what I mean.
Barrelhouse Bessie's is still a restaurant where you can get a tour of the
upstairs rooms if you know the owner.
Local flathat miners with a short claim on the river are taking millions of
untaxed gold out of the rivers every year in this county.

For the record this the first time that I ever said anything on the
net about being in Viet Nam. Check google you dumb ****,not hardly
flounting anything. Only the fact that there are some of us that walked
the walk. Now I'm going to get somewhat specific. One medal I recieved
was the ARCOM with V for valor. It was downgraded from a Soldiers
medal. The medal was for rescueing several Vietnamese from a burning
village caused by a fully armed VNAF F-5 that flamed out on takeoff and
crashed into the village just east of Bien Hoa. As for measuring the
rounds they really didn't fly past they landed all around us. Where
would you have been, hiding under your bunk sucking your thumb and
crying for your mommie?
You didn't answer my question why aren't you still at Eagle What was
your job there?
Make sure you wear your track shoes to Sun N Fun and Oshkosh so you
can run to security when you see me. Because I promise our paths will
cross. Then we will find just how brave you really are without a

Frank I might have crossed paths with you, I was in Bien Hoa in 1967-68.
Looking at jaun's bio on his web page I doubt he served in any conflict
or he would have said so.
Here is to you for serving in Nam.
zoom and yaun are cowards and cannot fight their own battles so they
belittle everyone else. zoom takes press reports and copies them to his
puny little web site and calls it news, juan has not said one coherent
reasonable thing as long as he has posted to rah. Listening to zoom at
Arlington this years talking about how great he is was sickening.

zoom's never been nominated either. I guess I pulled a lot of sheep over
people's wool to get to be included in the first induction :-) It was and still
is a great privilege to be there.
Seem's both zoom and jaun are envious of those who actually did something in
their lives rather then talk about it. Be it building and flying your own plane,
doing some feat that required a certain amount of testicular fortitude or any
number of accomplishments that neither zoom or jaun have ever attained.
So they try to attain what they can't by ripping and tearing at those who did
,hanging on to the coat tails of the successful hoping that someone will notice
them in the presence of people they wish they were.
They're Walter Mitty's living dual lives of reality and what they percieve
themselve's to be.zoom's the great aviator and pilot and jaun is this brave
macho man trying to impress with his bravado .Both are cry's for attention but
both lack the ability of doing something worthy of attention.
I used to feel sorry for people like that but in these two cases I hope they
both get what they deserve. "Credibility it was always about credibility".

Jerry;
I arrived at Bien Hoa with the 101st on 7 Dec 67 left there mid Feb
for camp Eagle. The F-5 crashed a couple of days before the tet in the
Widows Village just east of the airfield. That was exciting but not
near as exciting as the Tet that was a couple of days to remember.
There will never be an airshow to rival the F-100's dropping 500lb
bombs inside the perimeter.
Some day we will have to sit down over a cold one(something other
than muzzleloader) and find out how close we were during that period.

1. they were not included in the NTSB report.
2. if you have a link to the report I'd be glad to read it.
3. Initial examination of the wreckage did not reveal
any obvious indications of pre-impact mechanical malfunctions with the
airframe, engine, or systems. There was no evidence of fire, explosion, or

controls was established.

I know that you don't give a damn for anything that is factual. By

I don't see how a guy who was Stateside turning wrenches can equate that with a
guy who was in combat and taking fire. Even if he got an award it still doesn't
match combat awards. I can't imagine being in country and being shot at by a
bunch of people who want to kill you. jaun does a disservice to the guys that
were actually in combat by trying to say that his fixing a helo in a nice safe

Does zoom have a current medical? I thought he wasn't current so how can he be

Juan boy, you are too much.
"Soldiers who truly earn medals for valor don't have any need to brag
about it..."
BUT YOU found the need to put your photo on your blog showing YOU in
your marines uniform.
Talk about the PUTZ of all time. YOU are it.
PS: Thanks, the day I read the crap you wrote about yourself was a day
that I needed a good laugh and you provided it.

That's why "Aircraft Accident Investigation," ISBN 0965370607, is 450 pages

Juan,
Since you appear to know more about the Walton crash than anyone else here,
please end the suspense and tell us what caused it. No finger pointing, no
accusations, just what caused the crash, in simple English. I'm not
interested in accusations against this person or that person, this company
or that company, just what caused John Walton's plane to go in. If it was a
design flaw, then tell us, as accurately as possible, what that design flaw
was, and what needs to be done to correct it. Not PAST design flaws, but
the one that caused Walton to crash. And note that I have addressed you as
a peer. Please accord me that same courtesy. Thank you.

Poor Jaun, he never learned english very well and can't seem to
understand the "may" is not an absolute. He sees what he wants to see
and NOTHING else. The only one who has said anything absolute was Jaun
accusing the plane design as being at fault. Wonder where he came up
with that information...imagination or just an out and out lie.

Just to play devils advocate here, you were talking to a reporter about the

That statement like many statements I gave to the news media are edited.I talked
with quite a few media people during the first few days after the accident and
they only use a small portion of what you say.
As an example of mis information, during the first few days after the accident
the plane was reported to be ultralight, it was not. That it was bought in
Virginia, it was not. That it was a used plane ,it was not. That the engine quit
,it did not. That it crashed on take off ,it did not and that it probably
stalled and spun it did not. Rumors and speculation ran wild even on this
newsgroup. Those were only a few of the ones I heard and saw reported in the
media.
In my conversations with that reporter and other reporters I said that it was
way too soon to come to any conclusions and that information was still coming
in, some true some false .For example the truth was, the plane was actually
bought new ,that it was built in West Virginia, the accident occured during
landing, the engine was running and that it was a Hirth not a Rotax . I also
mentioned that we just recently learned that the plane was being flown without a
fuse cover.I said it wasn't designed to be flown that way but that I had flown
it without the cover years earlier during the test phase of the design. It was
just another tidbit of info, another piece of the puzzle that we were trying to
solve...
I was trying to impress on them that info will be forth coming for a long time
and it will take time to try and sort things out because anything else is pure
speculation.
I just returned this afternoon from Jackson Hole where I met with the NTSB and
we examined the wreckage together. We learned a few more bits of info but I'm
not at liberty to discuss it. A second report from the NTSB will be out in the
future and until then I can't and won't speculate on the crash .If we find
something of a safety related issue that could affect current Hawk owners I will
certainly alert them.
As far as posting the entire interview I doubt it exists ,I don't tape record my
conversations except for those I used to have with zoom .
Cheers

Hey Chuck,
I thought he might look at a picture of one occasionally. Lately my
favorite was the seven part TEST flight of the Eclipse jet. He tells
how they devised a test card for the flight and writing about control
harmony, phugoids. All his normal I'm a test pilot zzoomspeak. I'll bet
he was so excited he had to write the story with one hand. I would say
he was flogging his log with the other, but in his case it was probably
more like tickling his twig. The best part was if you read the AOPA
article they were the first to fly the plane. On top of that they flew
pretty much the same profile and Eclipse refers to the AOPA article in
their press releases.Wonder how long mooz walked around the hangar with
his parachute and crash helmet.

I bet he embellished "his" article after he read the AOPA article, then he added
his usual "we were the first to fly" BS. He's still a phony but he does have a

When I was flying for Trans Air Link, there was an outfit with a 727
that was a flying hazard to navigation. We had to go around once (in a
DC-6!) once when they decided to back taxi on the runway, rather than go
to the end and take the diagonal taxiway.
It was funny, the flight I often worked was "Skytruck 50", from Miami to
Port of Prince. We had a departure time that was the same as the Haitian
727, but they were always so late departing that we would often arrive
in our DC-6's BEFORE they did!

Dan;
To the best of my knowledge Haitian registered planes are barred from
operating in the U.S. since the early to mid 90's. That's why this
company had a 129 certificate and the N registration on the planes that
it planned to operate in and out of the states.
One of the first things I had to deal with was trying to get the
maintenance on track. Going over the status of the fleet I found that
one of the LET's was 18 days over a "B" check. When I questioned them
as to why this was I was told that they didn't have a special tool to
perform one opertion on the check. So they just passed on doing any of
the inspection. If they would have read the next paragraph in the
Maint. manual it spelled out an alternative method without the tool.
One other among many that sticks out in my mind was that they never had
any tires changes in the log book. Come to find out they didn't have
the material to do the NDT on the rims so they didn't log any wheel
changes. I told them that didn't they think that the FAA might want to
know how they were getting 800 landings with no tire wear. Like I said
it was an adventure every rock I turned over I found a new snake.

I said that they referenced the AOPA article in their press releases
on their web site. There was no mention of anything written by your

stated that he was the first writer to fly the plane. Are you saying
that was wrong? Given a choice to believe the AOPA or a proven liar
I'll take the AOPA every time.
If you read the AOPA article they flew the same profile as zzzooom, so
it wasn't some elaborate test profile that zzzooom said it was. Are you

Moved from IV Corps (Delta) to Pleiku late in 67. Director of II DASC.
Only FAC that got airborne first night of TET at Pleiku. Wonder how
many lives I saved with the strikes put in that first night?
Never stopped to count, just doing my job.
Friendly fire shot at me on take off (50cal/20mm) even with my lights
out. Sound shooting I guess.
Used to go to BH and TSN and mix with the 'big boys'.
Would land in the over run and turn off the first taxi way. As I
cleared the R/W a heavy mover would hit the R/W and pop his chute 50
feet behind me. You could smell the burnt rubber from the wheel spin
up.
Glad you were one of the good guys and willing to put your ass on the

Can you explain that? I waasn't there but always thought that
Charlie didn't have much of an Air Force to shoot at.
--

I wasn't with Big John but the Tet was unlike anything that had
happened up to that point. I was at Bien Hoa when the rockets started
flying we ducked into our bunkers as we normally did. Usually these
attacks lasted only a few minutes and it was back to bed. This night
when the rockets stopped a massive infantry attack hit the east side of
the perimeter. This area only had a couple of VNAF security post and it
didn't take long for the NVA breech the line. About half way from the
wire to the runway was some old French bunkers maybe 250 yards inside
the base. It was at this time that our helipad became the front line.
The bad guys set up in one of the reinforced bunkers and started
shooting a 57 recoiless rifle at the F-100s in their revetments. All
the time we were trying to keep their heads down with rifles and a
couple of M-60 machine guns. Overhead the 334th AHB Playboys were
tearing up the area with their Huey Cobras. That is how it continued
through the night,at first light me and a kid from Texas went to the
other end of the pad to an ammo supply we kept for the gunships. As we
headed back for the perimeter with a supply of ammo. I was looking
south about 10 miles on the solid gray overcast I saw the brightest red
reflection and a shock wave ring growing . The shock wave just kept
coming and the reflection turned into a massive fireball,as the shock
ring passed me the earth shook hard enough to bounce me off the ground
I about crapped I thought that someone put the wrong bullet into a
wrong gun and fired a tactical nuke. I jumped into a ditch and was
trying to remember all the nuke stuff from basic training. Obviously it
wasn't a atomic weapon but the NVA blowing up the Long Binh ammo dump.
Later that day we had A1 Skyraiders and F-100s bombing inside the base.
It took about three days to mop up and return the base to its rightfull
owners,us.
So the gist of this story is if I thought that day someone fired a
nuke, thinking that there was an air attack wasn't to far fetched. On
the other hand Big John may have just ****ed someone off.
