Aircraft FCC license

I need to get an FCC radio license for my Glasair. Yea, I know, I don't
need one if I fly in the lower 48 states, but I want to fly into Canada.
Anyone know how to apply and receive a radio license for an experimental
aircraft? I have a personal FCC radio permit.

Go to FCC website and you can download an application form. But, it is not
quite that easy. You need to figure out which section has the right form,
then you need to download another form to send in the fee, and I think you
also have to obtain a universal license number which you will put on the
application.

It is not quite as easy as it sounds.

It's really easy if you first go to the ULS (Universal License number
app) and then call the 800 number and ask what to do.

They are very helpful and will basically walk you through it step by
step.

Before you spend the bucks check with the Canadians. The last I heard
they no longer required the license. I've never run across anyone
going North or coming back that has been asked to produce one.
