On my newsreader it has a view option drop down menu and one of the items
is:

View Thread

If that's checked I get the + if not they are as you discribed.
I'm sure your newsreader has a similiar item. If you can't find it let the
group know which news reader your using and maybe someone can help.

Now they're not connected--just strung out like a mad woman's s**t You
have to hunt for connected topics---other n.g.'s didn't change

Probably you news reader settings. What do you use?

i HAVE 10 NEWSGROUPS--- 4 have dropdown, 6 have view thread??---but I
didn't change anything, they just dood it themselves!---I'll look at
n.g.reader options & see what.s there---Thanks muchly!!

balloon icon" that changes things back to 1st msg. w/ answers -strung
