I had the distinct priviledge of being present for Larry Mauro's
introduction into EAA's U/L Hall of fame last night. I have known
Larry for over 25 years, spent 2 months with him at his home and Riser
factory in California in the early 80's, and wish all of you had seen
the designs he had on the board back then.
Taken back totally by surprise, you should have seen the look on his
face when I took him to his table and he noticed the placards with his
entire families names on them. He had NO idea that they were going to
be present for the ceremony! Representing the U/L were Jim House,
Carla Larsch, Leo Parent, and Paula Crevier.
He still has his desire to build the simplest, lightest, U/L to date
and I wouldn't be shocked to see him do it again.
It was good to spend an extraordinary evening with my friend.
