More people would look at it here if you gave a direct link. Its easy.
But its hard to chase an auction number.

Good luck. This news group blocks messages with such commercial info. It
also blocks binary postings.

Interesting, 1 year ago, when I had a remote oil filter to sell, this
news group refused my ebay posting. perhaps it was subject line related.
Hold on why I try that one.

Well, well, well. Looks like the commercial policy has changed. I just
sent in a posting with SALE written all over it & it got through. Now
for a binary posting test...

Certain news servers block binary postings to non-binary newsgroups (mine
included) and others don't.
There are also moderated news groups where a real human clears posts before
they are released. This particular newsgroup has never been moderated but at
one time your news server might have been filtering certain items.

What he said. :)
Binaries are blocked by the servers - not by "the newsgroup". I remember one
time when BWB's binaries were getting through. Boy, did *that* **** a bunch
of people off.
I don't know of any time when links have been stripped out, though I
wouldn't be surprised if it happened occasionally with some server,
somewhere.

On long links I use <these>. Seems to help. Although, this eBay link came
through the first time just fine without them.

If you have an Ebay item number, all you have to do is go to the Ebay home
page and cut and paste the number into the "What are you looking for?" box.
The Search function takes you right to that page. The origonal poster
didn't need to post a link.

Thanks for all the "help" on my message about selling the wheels. What is
so "commercial" about a homebuilder trying to sell
some good equipment at a decent price? I have bought tons of "good stuff"
for my Glasair from people in this newsgroup and
on Ebay. I don't have and Ebay Storefront. I don't sell aircraft parts for
a living. I just have some extra wheels that have been
replaced with different brakes that will stop me quicker. I know I will
find someone that is looking for just the thing I am selling.

Don't worry about it. The guy who posted that misunderstood something
his newsserver did sometime in the past.

Look at it another way. You sure got a lot of publicity and attention
for your sale. That will help to sell it.

Look at it another-nother way. Auction items should have been offered to the
group first - otherwise it is "commercial" (a.k.a. spam).
I think that whenever I see a post with, 'Hey, look at my eBay auction.'

I'm guessing that double shot was meant for me.
(If we were in a bar that would be a good thing)
I'm pretty easy going with the "look at my (aviation) product" or the "check
out my plane for sale" posts - many times I'll even post some follow-up
questions. We really are not inundated with too much "commercial" spam on
the rec.aviation.newsgroups. Some, but not too much, IMHO.
The eBay posts are a little different for me, don't know why for sure.
I'm all for someone trying to get the most bucks for their bang, I just
don't like the group having to compete with eBay. That said, it's nice to be
alerted that something is out there.
There's just something about eBay links that rub me the wrong way - that's
all.
Montblack
Speaking of rubbing the wrong way - garbage? perfect?

I tried to put in a bid for your auction items, but when I signed on
to E-Bay, a message appeared saying that the bidding had been
terminated. I signed on about an hour before the auction was to have
ended. There were no bids listed and I don't recall any " Buy-it-now"
price. What happened? I'd still like to have the items if they are
still for sale.
