View Full Version : Heritage F-14 Tomcat??

Hi

I have seen pictures of a F-4 Phantom that is operated by the Heritage
Flight in the US (not sure where they got it from - is it a QF-4
waiting to be blown up, or will they keep it?).

This got me thinking: is there any posibility that the Heritage Flight
could operate a F-14 Tomcat?

There should be plenty of airframes and spare parts around, as well as
people to fly and maintain it.

Does anyone know if this is being/has been/will be considered?

There are SIX QF-4s being used in the Heritage Flight program right
now. Two are from Holloman and four from Tyndall. All "E" models I
believe. They are supposed to be permanent additions to the HF Program.

The F-14 would not be part of the Heritage Flight program - the HF is
run by the USAF and ACC, BUT it might be, hopefully considered for the
Tailhook Legacy Flight program that the Navy does.

I think he might mean the Collings Foundation F-4D. This sounds more
like the model of operations he is talking about.
