We watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer last night on CBS. As near as we
could tell the airplane danced on its tail, which would make it a
'taildancer' I suppose.

Does anyone know for sure what was wrong with the airplane?

Reading the links below we learn:

The girl doll was nuts.
Yukon Cornelius finds a peppermint mine in the first airing.
A write-in campaign changed the ending after the special first aired.
The 1964 talent got paid for three years only, the late Burl Ives is still
getting paid.

But we don't know for sure why the airplane is on the Island of Misfit Toys.
Hmm?

What followed Rudolph on CBS? A murder/bodies/satanic message/CSI type show.
Also, DURING Rudolph, AIG had a commercial that had something like 'Santa is
not real' as a printed message tag line. What the #^%*??

I'd always remembered the broadcast of "Rudolf" being immediately
followed by "Frosty the Snowman", followed by beddy-bye time.

Anything else is pure sacrilege.

Well, we'll always have The Grinch. No behind-the-scenes drama involved
with a cartoon I'll bet..

We watched it too, and I was also trying to figure out what was wrong
with it...

It appeared as though the gear may have been on the same side as it's
face, which seemed to be the top, but I couldn't tell for sure???

Cheers!

Except that they disgrased the memory of Dr. Suess with that
abomination staring Jim Carrey.

May he smoke a turd in Purgatory for attempting to tarnish my
childhood memories.

Because it is obviously a GA light aircraft and, by definition, a misfit.

If an Elf named Hermey/Herbie knocks at your door and says, "Is if safe?"
....let him in.
