Many of you will not know the name William H. "Bill? Bill WHO?!"
Ottley, but friends of sport aviation in the USA lost a dear friend and
proponent this week. Bill passed away of natural causes on December 1st
after a long, and very full, life.
Bill was best known for his service and contributions in the skydiving
community, including a number of years as USPA Executive Director, but
all of the country's air sports benefited from his work with the FAA,
federal, and state governments and keeping skydiving (and to some
degree soaring) a largely self-regulated sport.
RIP my friend.
