I have not been able to find out the type of aircraft flown in this
incident. When I look at the GWS site it shows Twin Grobs, DG-505 , and
a blanik . Which of these aircraft was involved ?

Most members of the club I belong to have a small emergency kit in
their glider with flares, emergency blankets, waterproof matches, first
aid kit, mirror , and a few granola bars.

I am sure a few of these items would have come in handy for you .

Do you think the aircraft should be equiped with these kits ?..or
should the PIC carry their own ?

We were in a Grob 103 twin. I personally believe it is up to the pilot
to bring along what ever they think is important. I will always take
my own handheld radio with me because even if the was not enough light
to rescue us that day, our families would have known we were alright.
But even more important, if someone had been injured a radio could have
saved a life.
