Sorry, I couldn't tell you from experience. I've never experimented
with the different adhesives available, I just used what the plans
said to use. And these days the things I'm developing are more along
the lines of conventional composites, without metal-to-metal bonding.

The strength values look to be on the same order as EA9430, except the
peel which is a little less than half. It shows the same steep slope
in high temperature strength. It may have other nice properties that
don't show up clearly on the data sheet.

I do know that Dick Schreder abandoned the Scotch-Weld epoxy line in
about 1971 when he discovered that it wasn't as moisture-resistant as
their specs said. I believe that the impetus was when the HP-16
sailplane he'd built for the national contest unzipped on the ground
because of the ballast water softening the glue that held on the
inboard wing skin. And that was the national contest he'd arranged to
be held in his hometown of Bryan, Ohio. He wasn't any too happy about
that. That's all described in "10,000 Feet And Climbing," the
biography of Dick written by his daughter Karen Barbera.

But anyhow, that episode was decades ago; the formulations have
undoubtably changed many times in the intervening years. These days it
might be a lot better. Or maybe not; but I'm not going to be the one
to experiment with it.
