Anyone else having problems viewing igc files on OLC? I had no
problems until the requirement to enter the letters and digits
(security codes?) but now it rejects me...in German.
I have tried both upper and lower case ..nada. What's the problem? I
emailed the OLC manager address......no reply.

Worked for me just a minute ago . . .
Clearly, people stealing OLC files is almost as big a problem as people
faking them.
Where exactly is this black market in stolen IGC files?

Well you could make your own .wt1 files from the IGC data !

Also the system has suddenly taken a dislike to my Volksogger record,
downloaded via SeeYou. Quote:

The signature is invalid.
Either the G-records of the IGC-file have been changed
or the FR's electronic security seal has been broken.D:443.TMP>echo
'' >> out.txt"
Enough of this crap!!!! If those in charge can't write software that
recognizes valid files something is really screwed up.
Fix it or we'll just go our own way.

It is possible that it failed the security test due to a glitch in the
VL file. I had a similar situation with a Cambridge 302 file a couple
of months ago.
Are you running SeeYou or Strepla on a PDA? If so, you might try to
upload that file to OLC.

My particular problem is that I can't view anyones igc flight on See
You. When I click on their igc file number, I get the random security
codes to enter, enter them, and am rejected.
OLC manager emailed..twice...no answer.
Probably my computer, but very frustrating.

Anyone from the sunny state have some insight?...a
cursory check of soaring cyberspace indicates possible
bad news.

I've heard some things via the "grapevine", but their website doesn't
indicate anything. What did your cursory check of cyberspace show that
was "possible bad news"?
I have heard from a friend who flys there that Roy is having difficulty
in renewing his insurance coverage (at least at a reasonable rate). I
understand operations have been temporarily shut down.
I hope this is a very temporary thing. Roy and the Turf organization
have been in business for 38 years and have trained many pilots for
various ratings (including yours truly). I always look forward to
flying at Turf when in the Phoenix area, and wish them the best of
luck.

Check forum entries...granted this is second hand as
well.

Contestants for the Region 9 regional have been given notice that Turf
has closed, possibly temporarily, due to lack of affordable insurance
renewal. Negotiations continue for insurance as well as possible sale
of airport and FBO.
