View Full Version : Aircraft historysearch
Is there a web site that allows one to research the history of a
particular aircraft, e.g. by registration or serial number?

In short - no. However you can request a disc from the FAA's Aircraft
Records Division on a specific aircraft that will contain all of the
information that they have on the aircraft. It's not searchable on-line
however.

I think AOPA will also do this for a fee.

I just did a title search through these folks:
http://www.federalaviationtitle.com/
Very pleasant interaction, and cheaper than AOPA. The OP wants a "Chain
of Title" search, which costs $50...

The information provided by the FAA is a bit more detailed than just a
title search. It will also include copies of all Form 337's that have
been applied to the airplane (that were received by FAA) as well as any
other documentation in the airplane that is in their records including
owner history, leins etc.
