View Full Version : Some help, please
Hi all,
I'd be grateful if someone could mail me a soft copy of the accident
investigation report of the A340 Toronto crash of August 2005. If
that's a bother, even a link would suffice, thanks.
Though I'm sure it's all done and dusted, I could find no more than
http://www.tsb.gc.ca/en/reports/air/2005/a05h0002/a05h0002_update_20051116.asp

Since that's the report from the NSB of Canada, I doubt there's another
report out there.

That was my initial thought too but I wondered because it's 9 months
already since the crash. Is it too unusual for a crash investigation to
take this long?

Depends on the crash and the aircraft. But no, for a transport category
aircraft 9 months isn't very long at all. Some accident investigations take
years.

A full year or even longer is normal. The investigation
must be finished and then the report written. Then the
report must be reviewed and corrected and a summary written.
That all takes time.
