Well, I don't know yet. I moved to North Carolina last fall, and I've
been trying to find information about alcohol contents. I'd love to get
the auto fuel STC for my Skylane, but I've not been able to find a
website, either by the NC DOT or whomever, indicating whether or not
mogas has alcohol in NC. So far, the pumps I've been at don't indicate
alcohol contents, but I don't know if it's required or not.

Does anyone know of a comprehensive site that lists, state by state,
alcohol content status on mogas?

I know about the interactive map posted elsewhere on this thread,
showing airports with mogas (very useful, but not exactly what I'm
looking for).

Mogas pumps that contain alcohol are required to be labeled as such. I
don't remember how I know that, but I am sure that is the case.

As far as other oxygen additives go, if you live in a county that has
required auto emissions testing, they will add them in the summer months.
Other counties near them may have them added, if their suppliers are in one
of those counties.

Hm. I live in Wake County, which I believe requires auto emissions
testing, but I keep the plane at JNX, which is in Johnston County.
Probably close enough that some gas stations might have gas with alcohol
in it.

It's pretty simple to test for alcohol. You can either get a tester (which
is basically a graduated test tube with a cover) or make a simple one
yourself.

If you would like details, let me know.

Hi Mike,

Yes, I know about the simple test, and I can easily find out what the
content of alcohol is at a local station today. What I'm trying to find
out is the likelihood of alcohol being present in gas in NC (in my case)
now and in the future.

From JimNC's comments, it appears that it's a seasonal thing in some
counties.

Not in Michigan they aren't. The pumps only have a sticker that says
the gas meets some specific standard number for gas. Here there is no
lable that tells you what is in the gas.
