Hi all,

Quite a while ago, someone asked if there was access to the seminal paper
by F. W. Meredith on the "Meredith Effect":

"Note on the Cooling of Aircraft Engines with Special Reference to Ethylene
Glycol Radiators Enclosed in Ducts"

This is the start of the P-51 radiator.

I said, at the time I had the paper because I went to the Wright Patterson
AFB research dept to get it. But that I had to find it. Well it took me a
while but I found it.

I also have:

T.O. No. 02-55AC-2 The Note that describes the real reason behind engine
cutouts when pilots pushed over hard in their Merlin powered aircraft.

I can make these accessible to the group at large if people are interested.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Although Mr. Saville's message seems to be quite old, and if after such a time there's a response from him, I would very much like to know what might be involved in getting a copy of Meredith's paper.

Best wishes,
Peter
