My wife was watching a BBC show about a guy auctioning off possessions
to buy flying lessons. At the end of the show there are clips of him
sitting in the >right< seat during instruction. Is the right seat the
PIC seat in British GA aircraft just as it is in autos? Or what's the deal?

His left cheek is probably more photogenic.

Had not got enough money for actual flying lessons and
got a joyride instead?

Video tape put in machine back to front?

No, it's the left seat (generally).
